I don't know about anyone else but there have been times that I have almost run down someone because they magically popped out and were suddenly walking across the street. Because of the fences that SU put in to add some appeal to the sidewalks it makes it near impossible to see any people walking.
Several times I have been driving at night and some person decides to walk across this pathway, dressed in all black, and I have to slam my breaks on. I know the pedestrians have the right away but they should also look before they cross the street to see if any car is approaching.
I have found a similar problem. I am all for stopping for pedestrians, but at night it is very hard seeing people crossing the streets. I find it especially challenging due to the high fencing that runs along the road.
ReplyDeleteI was talking to someone the other day who mentioned a similar problem. The new pillars along the sides of the campus make it increasingly difficult to see pedestrians. Something should really be done!
ReplyDeleteThe school needs to def. get rid of those brick posts.
ReplyDeleteit's also really tough to pull out of the north parking lot right next to the new science building, you can't see if anyone is coming until you're half way out into the road.
